We love feedback! Please tell us what you think of The Complete Picture Book Submissions System. Thank you!
I love this course. I’m taking my time going through everything slowly. I love the amount of query critiques that are given. It is so helpful to know what works and what needs left out of a query letter!
I’m to the point in my career that I need as much submission info as possible. I know I will be using this information in the years to come. Thank You Emma and Julie!
The CPBSS has saved me countless hours of research and self doubt. Using what I learned from The System, I spent a relatively short amount of time constructing my (first) query. The result was shared with critique peers with much more experience than myself and the feedback has been incredibly positive. I now have a direct query that covers all my bases but is concise. I’m ready to send it out into the wild, and more importantly, I am amped up to write more queries! Emma and Julie, this was a great investment, thank you.
I have had some interest from agents, but to be honest, that has come from meeting them through conferences. I have 4 picture books that I have sent queries out for, but the queries don’t seem to be exciting much response. I decided to give The System a try. I have only been through 10 of the 50 query letters that are critiqued, but I can already see that the letters I had spent so much time on were not doing me (or my stories) any favors. I am very excited to try writing new letters with all of this information in mind. Thank you Emma and Julie! I think I am farther down the path!
I bought this program along with joining Julie’s 12×12 and signing up for the Just Write For Kids course with Emma. I consider it the hat trick for finally getting where I’ve only dreamed of being. As I’m working on Emma’s course I’ve also been perusing the CPBSS, letting all this information seep into my system as a way of building up immunity against the fear of actually writing queries and sending them out. I’ve found reading the original queries followed by critiqued versions an invaluable learning tool. The straightforward way Julie and Emma share their knowledge and experience is much appreciated–for me, a wise investment.
This COULD BE the year. But it IS THE YEAR in which I am growing by leaps. I enrolled in 12×12 as Golden; I took Emma’s Just Write for Kids Course; and now I am so fortunate to be getting not just the ultimate guide but THE COMPLETE PICTURE BOOK SUBMISSION SYSTEM! Although that’s a lot for me to handle, it’s working because
1. Emma and Julie are excellent communicators.
2. Emma, has shown me how to pick apart a PB in a way that reveals similar theme, plot, and pacing to the PB that I am writing.
3. In 12×12 I have the opportunity to submit, so I need to be prepared. (I’ve been writing for kids for two years with submitting in mind.)
4. This year I did submit. It may not have been perfect, but it was an undertaking of which I’m proud.
I’m thrilled to see the extras, the organization, and learn this excellent COMPLETE SYSTEM that is sure to push me farther in my writing journey than I’ve ever been.
Thank you Emma and Julie for this valuable opportunity. It’s absolutely what I need.
I would recommend this course to everyone. Emma’s Just Write for Kids series was one of the best courses I every took and this Complete System is amazingly detailed and helpful. Both Emma and Julie are inspirational as they break down the submission process to its bare essentials and show through examples and manageable sections how to create the best query for your picture book. Thank you both for such an excellent resource.
I just watched the replay of the Live Q & A with Emma & Julie! How fortunate we are to have the benefit of their expertise and wisdom. I have manuscripts but I need to learn the submissions process quickly and correctly. The Picture Book Submissions course is helping me do that. Thank you to our leaders and their support team!
I just watched the replay of the Q&A session. Thank you, Julie, Emma, and Kelli!
Several times you’ve mentioned things that cost writers: agent fees, editor fees, etc. It is hard to justify going deeper and deeper in the red, waiting for some return “some day”. I have spent my share of money on learning how to write kidlit and learning about the business. I am so glad that I spent money on this system. I am learning so much! I’m not submitting yet, but I can feel myself getting closer every day.
Thank you for compiling this incredibly helpful course! I’ve learned so much from reading through the modules and come back to them over and over again. I truly appreciate all of the hard work you do to support authors!
